Preview: AGWSR volleyball

ACKLEY- An experienced yet youthful AGWSR volleyball team will take the court this fall.

The Cougars stand 30-plus strong for new head coach Jill Smith, but finds just one senior on the roster – Rachel Sicard.

Sicard is one of five girls returning that played in 70 or more of the team’s 77 sets a year ago. Teammates back are juniors Taylor Sperfslage, Alyssa Hames and Alayna Hunt along with sophomore Natalie Gerstein.

“Experience plays a big role and bringing these kids back is important, especially leadership wise. And we are fortunate to also have some kids come back out this year,” said Smith.
