New bank president
ELDORA – The annual meeting of the Hardin County Savings Bank took place on May 12, at its principal office location in Eldora. Reelected as bank directors were Jim Brown, Martin Brown, Drew Lewis, Donna Lawler, Carl Stevens, Cornelia Throssel, Maurice Hyde, Larry Wolf, David Vander Wilt and Steve Gehrke.
Jim Brown, president and CEO announced the promotion of David Vander Wilt to president. Jim Brown will continue as CEO and chairman of the board. He said the change at the helm of Hardin County Savings Bank has been anticipated for several years as Dave Vander Wilt trained to take over the position. As the son-in-law to Jim Brown, this transition marks the third generation of Brown family leadership at the bank. Robert R. Brown was named President on January 20, 1959 followed by his son, James R Brown in September, 1988. Vander Wilt will add upon over 55 years of leadership as President. He and his wife, Maggie Brown Vander Wilt, Marketing Assistant at HCSB, live in Eldora with their four children. (read the rest in the Tuesday Ledger)
