Laurin “Bud” L. Halsey

3-19-1931 to 8-29-2020

Laurin “Bud” L. Halsey of Eldora, Iowa, passed away in his home with his children at his bedside on Aug. 29, 2020. There will be no services held at this time.

He married his high school sweetheart (“favorite redhead”), Carol J. Cole on Sept. 17, 1950, in Fairfield, Iowa. Three children were born to this union, Sherry Hagen of Crawford, Neb.; Mark Halsey (Patti) of Eldora, Iowa; Trish Wingrove (Wendell) of Daphne, Ala.; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Bud and Carol have made Eldora their home for the better part of 50 years. They owned Mr. B’s Drive-In and Mode ‘O Day Clothing Store.

He taught his children the value of good work ethic, yet he was a great practical joker and ‘teaser’ – ask any grandchild.

He loved to garden, read and talk about history.

He always believed in family first. Dad, you will always be missed.
