Kathleen Hoffman, 79, of New Providence, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025 at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, Feb. 1, at noon at the Salem Church, Hubbard, with a visitation one hour prior.
Burial will take place at a later date in the Hoffman Family Timber.

Kathleen Ann Hoffman was born May 5, 1945 in Marshalltown. She was one of five children born to Lyle and Edna (Strange) Small. She grew up in Marshalltown and received her education in the Marshalltown School System where she graduated with the Class of 1963. She started working for Osco Drugs right out of high school. It was here where she met and fell in love with Joe Hoffman. They were united in marriage Feb. 25, 1968 at the Chapel Church in rural New Providence. Many years were spent traveling while Joe was in the service, Kathy stayed at home and raised two children. After moving back to Iowa in 1979, she began working various jobs including Family Foods in Eldora, Hardees and McDonald’s in Iowa Falls, Bateman’s Food Store, Hubbard Care Center and Casey’s in Hubbard. Kathy always enjoyed cooking and feeding anybody she could.
After Kathy retired in 2010, she was active at the Salem Church in Hubbard, breakfast at the Roundhouse in New Providence and prepared deviled eggs for all funerals in New Providence. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her daughter Tanya Calef of New Providence and her son Kevin (Nancy) Hoffman of Iowa Falls; four grandchildren Katelynn and Brooklynn Calef, Dylan and Payton Hoffman; one great-grandson Jerome Rees; sister-in-law Janet (Bryan) Benskin, brother-in-law Jeff (Jim Lantz) Hoffman, along with many other relatives and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, one brother Harold, and three sisters Baby Small, Mary Paxson and Dorothy Morrison.
