Arlene Brinkmeyer, 89, of Hubbard, passed away Jan. 25, 2025 at the Hubbard Care Center.
Visitation was set for Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Zion United Church of Christ, Hubbard, with a service Thursday, Jan. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the church and burial in the Hubbard Cemetery.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 30th, 10:30 am at the Zion United Church of Christ, Hubbard, IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

Arlene was born the fifth of seven children to Gus and Marie (Hebrok) Oberhokamp on a farm seven miles south of Hubbard.
She was baptized and confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hubbard.
Arlene received her elementary education by attending several rural country schools in the Zearing and Hubbard communities. She received her high school education from Radcliffe High School, graduating with the Class of 1954.
Upon graduation from high school, Arlene was a secretary at several offices in Ames and then she was employed by Attorney William N. Dunn in Hubbard.
Arlene and Philip were married on November 24, 1956, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Radcliffe. After their marriage, they moved to the family farm, which they farmed for 9 years. In 1971, they moved to their present home in Hubbard.
Arlene became a member of Zion United Church of Christ and helped on various committees in the church. Arlene showered her husband and family with love and delicious cooking.
Arlene and Phil were high school sweethearts. She loved being a mom, grandma, and great grandma. She will be remembered for her homemade strawberry jam and chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed watching ball games, fishing, golfing, and playing cards. We loved that she loved doing laundry.
At the time of her death, Arlene had 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter and another great-great-grandchild due in May.
Arlene is survived by her children Jill (Craig) Miller, Curtis (Karyn) Brinkmeyer and RJ (Bridgette) Brinkmeyer all of Hubbard; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild & another due in May; sister Mary Ann (Linn) Reisetter; "Aunt Arlene to 572+ nieces and nephews"; and a host of cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Philip Brinkmeyer, siblings Melvin (Margaret) Oberhokamp, Doris (Melvin) Boeke, Ruth (Jim) Mannetter, Jean (Kenneth) Wright & Marjorie (Tom) Boeke.
