VanderWilt to state XC with late push

GARNER- A late push propelled South Hardin sophomore Jacob VanderWilt to a top 10 placing and a state meet berth during a Class 2A State Qualifier cross country meet here Thursday.

The meet’s top 15 individual placewinners advance to the state show and VanderWilt with a strong final 1.1 miles climbed his way into that select group. VanderWilt, who was counted 16th at both the one and two-mile markers, was clocked in 17:33.
