Tigers turn back Mustangs

ELDORA- Two teams trending in opposite directions battled to the final buzzer here Saturday.

The South Hardin boys’ basketball team withstood a late rally to defeat Prairie City-Monroe, 56-54 in the regular season finale.

The visiting Mustangs chopped a 14-point deficit moments into the fourth quarter to two in the final seconds.

Down 52-38, PC-M made a late charge, ending on a 16-4 spurt to fall just short. Down 56-53, the Mustangs forced a South Hardin turnover and were fouled, sending Jason Stafford to the charity stripe. He made the first one, missed the second on purpose, retrieved his own miss and was off-target on a game-tying attempt.
