Recreation trail gets new timeline and namesake

HARDIN COUNTY – Delivery on the project was in sight and it was time to get serious about naming it. So, what had been informally known as the Iowa River Recreation Trail will henceforth be the River’s Edge Trail.

River’s Edge Trail is thought to better describe the biking (and otherwise) experience between Steamboat Rock and Marshalltown. 

A few years ago, the abandoned Iowa River Railroad line, by default, lent its name to the proposed 30-plus mile recreation trail.
