NEW TEACHER highlight

Mrs. Kelsey Chaplin is the new third-grade teacher at Hubbard-Radcliffe Elementry.

Mrs. Chaplin lives in Ackley with her husband, Bryce and two sons, Colton, 6, and Parker, 4.

She brings seven years of teaching experience from her hometown in Latimer, IA at CAL.

Mrs. Chaplin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Middle (teaching math, reading, or science) from University of Northern Iowa, and a Master’s degree in Differentiated Instruction from Graceland University in 2016.

When asked what the best thing about third grade is, she responded, “The kids! They are anxious to learn and eager to be here. They are starting to get more independent and doing more things on their own. Just seeing that transferring of responsibilities is so rewarding.”
