Memorial Day cancelled

ELDORA – The veteran’s organizations locally will decorate service member graves this year, but the long-standing traditional Memorial Day observance is cancelled for this year.

Like so many events, it is taking a one-year hiatus because of the restrictions on gathering of crowds during the pandemic nationwide.

The two service organizations, American Legion and VFW, plus students and musicians from the local school have traditionally conducted ceremonies at the Eastlawn Cemetery, at the lower river bridge and at the main Eldora Cemetery.
