Lashbrook returning to state

DENVER- A return trip to the state tournament was earned by Trey Lashbrook of the AGWSR wrestling team during a Class 1A district meet here Saturday.

Lashbrook coupled a technical fall win in the semi-finals with a narrow victory in the championship for the district crown.

The Cougars’ sophomore standout was a 15-0 winner over Postville’s Caleb Hughes in the semis and then won a showdown with Jacob Moore of Denver, 7-5 in the finals. Lashbrook, fifth-ranked, improved to 40-2 with the win over No. 4 Moore. Lashbrook ended eighth at 113-pounds at state a year ago with two losses for Moore.
