NEW PROVIDENCE- It played out like a scene that could’ve been ripped straight from In Cold Blood: two hapless desperadoes, fresh off of a fruitless night on borrowed money at the Meskwaki Casino, decided to rectify their financial woes by pulling the oldest get rich quick scheme in the book. For reasons yet unknown, Ira Moore and Terry Fisher selected the New Providence branch of the Hardin County Savings Bank on February 20, 1998, to execute what would go down as the final hurrah in a multi-state crime spree.
