Good opener for South Hardin XC

IOWA FALLS- A scorecard of five placewinners in the top 20 lifted the highly-ranked South Hardin boys’ cross country team to a runner-up placing at the Iowa Fall-Alden/AGWSR Invitational at Mayne’s Grove Park Thursday.

The third-ranked in Class 2A Tigers tallied 52 points for second behind 31 for team champion Humboldt.

Senior Kolby Winter led the South Hardin scoring at second, running 17:24. Winter made a mad dash on the homestretch to capture the silver.

The Tigers’ Alex Hassan rounded out the top 10 of the 134-runner field with a clocking of 18:55 followed by Carter Kolthoff 11th also in 18:55, Justin Meints 13th at 18:56 and Chase Harvey 16th in 19:19.
