Getting acquainted with Hardin County Extension

When Bobbi Finarty first walked in the doors of the Hardin County Extension Office, she was no novice to extension work. January 27 may have been her first day as a County Director, but Finarty began her work with extension many years earlier as a nine-year-old kid.

She was a career 4-H’er for nine years growing up in Lucas County. In college she was a 4-H intern for both Lucas and Marion Counties. The lessons she learned then impacted her life, and she chose to impact others’ lives as an adult as well. She has always been involved with youth in some way and working in agriculture and education has been a main focus of her life.  Finarty became an adjunct college instructor, teaching speech, English composition, and business courses at Central College in Pella, Southwestern Community College in Creston, and Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls.
