A first for the courthouse

ELDORA – Time hasn’t exactly stood still at the top of the stairs. Great fires, great storms and more mundane wear and tear have brought some upgrades to the top floor, but one thing no one ever got around to doing in the attic of the Hardin County Courthouse – is think about energy efficiency.  

Climb those stairs and the first thing you see is how little had been done to improve the structure’s heating and cooling rating.  Almost no insulation installed, but for a dusting on one small section of floor. Nothing has ever been done to seal the inside rafter works.
