East sweeps West in Senior Games

REINBECK- The East division of the North Iowa Cedar League West Conference swept the West in the annual Senior Games here Friday.

The East girls were a 56-44 winner and the boys outscored the West, 93-80.

GIRLS

A strong second half push propelled East over the NICL West girls, turning a 30-24 halftime deficit into the 12-point win. The East outscored the West, 34-14 over the final 16-minutes, including 16-4 in the fourth. The East stood nine-strong while the West had just six cagers.

BOYS

A pair of scoring sprees to bookend the first half carried the East over the NICL West boys. Down 6-5, the East uncorked an early 21-2 run to build a commanding 26-8 lead and then after the East pulled with 35-25, closed the 20-minute first half on a 17-2 spurt for a 54-35 halftime lead.
