Democrats have a hopeful

JD Scholten has taken a progressive’s message across 39 Iowa counties in the course of the last nine months, out into a Congressional district that has since 2003 arguably produced the most conservative lawmaker going.

Scholten is one of four candidates seeking the Democrat Party nod to go up against Steve King in November. He was in Eldora and Iowa Falls this past week for campaign stops.

He has until the June Primary to bring the party behind him, and he says he hopes in this second half of the campaign to succeed by going to the people face to face, and “earning their trust, if not necessarily their agreement on all the issues.”
