BCLUW volleyball nets many memories
CONRAD- A fantastic fall was booked by the BCLUW volleyball team.
The Comets’ campaign celebrated a school record for wins, conference runner-up and deep post-season run.
BCLUW reached the 20-win plateau for a fifth consecutive season and finished with a school record for match wins at 26 against 12 losses. The total surpasses the mark of 25 set back in 2015.
The Comets posted marks of 9-2 in best of five bouts and 17-10 in tournaments.
BCLUW tied the school record with a sweep of Belle Plaine in the post-season opener and then set the new mark with a 3-1 win over Woodward-Granger in the regional semi-final. The team’s tourney trail ended with a 3-0 loss to state-ranked Tri-Center in the Class 2A, Region 4 final at Earlham.
The Comets’ second weekday loss was to highly-regarded Grundy Center in North Iowa Cedar League West play. BCLUW ended 5-1 in the conference for second behind Grundy.
