BCLUW girls second at Grundy

GRUNDY CENTER- Ten top three medal placings propelled the BCLUW girls’ track & field team to a runner-up finish at the Lady Spartan Invitational here Thursday.

The Comets combined two first placings with four seconds and thirds each and gathered up 120 points.

Jesup claimed the team title, collecting 131.6 points with Hudson and East Marshall also in triple digits at 108 and 105.6 for third and fourth, respectively.

The AGWSR girls scored 63.6 points and started the second division in sixth.

Katie Thompson in the 200 meter dash and the shuttle hurdle relay team cross the finish line first for BCLUW. Thompson’s winning time was 28.80-seconds while the shuttle hurdle relay of Kiersten Kruse, Payton Pekarek, Kenna Paxson and Lizzie Garber ran 1:11.19.
