Area Girl Scouts celebrate World Thinking Day

HARDIN COUNTY – The South Hardin Girl Scouts celebrated World Thinking Day with a whirlwind of thrilling games from the countries with the five world Girl Scout Centers. The game “Don’t Look Back the Fox Walks Around” was played representing Chalet, Switzerland; Hopscotch for Cabana, Mexico; spinning tops for Sangam, India; Conkers for Pay Lodge, England; and Mancala for Kusafiri, Africa. The 2020 theme was “Living Threads”. The girls collected a colored string from each game to make a bracelet in the end. World Thinking Day is celebrated every year by Scouts around the world as a day to think about each other. February 22 was chosen as the day in 1926 as it was the birthday of both Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scout movement, and his wife Lady Olave Baden-Powell, the first world chief guide.
