Another staffer injured at Training School

The Des Moines Register, Thursday was reporting that an unidentified staff member lost several teeth and suffered broken bones in his nose, cheeks and eye socket, when attacked by a resident at the State Training School Saturday. The paper quoted  Department of Human Services Director Jerry Foxhoven whose department oversees the school in Eldora.

The assault happened six weeks after four residents of the program allegedly beat up another staff member during an escape attempt.

The Register reported Foxhoven said a lone resident beat up the staff member Saturday. He said the employee, who is in his early 20s, will need extensive surgery for the injuries.
