Julia “Judy” Mossman, 87, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Public visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at Creps Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, Iowa. Funeral services for Judy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at Creps Abels Funeral Home with Pastor Harrison Lippert officiating. Following services, Judy will be laid to rest at the Eldora City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed in Judy’s name to her family.

Joan VanDornum, 87, of Hubbard, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. A graveside service was held at the Hubbard Cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. The family requested that masks be worn and social distancing guidelines be respected. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hubbard Swimming Pool Fund or the Hubbard Library. Boeke Funeral Home of Hubbard was in charge of arrangements. Paul Valde, 96, of Ellsworth, Iowa, passed away on Sept. 4, 2020, at the Briarwood Health Care Center in Iowa City, Iowa. A flowing visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe, Iowa. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the Buckeye Cemetery, Buckeye, Iowa. Please bring your lawn chair. Laurin “Bud” L. Halsey of Eldora, Iowa, passed away in his home with his children at his bedside on Aug. 29, 2020. There will be no services held at this time.

He married his high school sweetheart (“favorite redhead”), Carol J. Cole on Sept. 17, 1950, in Fairfield, Iowa. Three children were born to this union, Sherry Hagen of Crawford, Neb.; Mark Halsey (Patti) of Eldora, Iowa; Trish Wingrove (Wendell) of Daphne, Ala.; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Jenness, 94

Evelyn Jenness, 94 years young, of Marshalltown, formerly of New Providence, was a survivor from the beginning of her life until the very end. She lived through World War II and The Great Depression in her early years and more recently, the tornado of 2018, the COVID-19 pandemic and derecho storm. On Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020, she passed away at Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Lydia Irene Wahlstrom passed away on Aug. 12, 2020, after an 11-year battle with Batten Disease. Survived by her parents Laura and Todd; brother Drew; grandparents Paul and Sheryl Magelssen and Jerry and Anita Wahlstrom, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Lydia Irene Wahlstrom was born July 18, 2004, to Laura and Todd Wahlstrom, St. Paul, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Radcliffe, Iowa. Burial will take place in the Radcliffe Cemetery. A flowing visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 24, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Boeke Funeral Home of Radcliffe is taking care of Paul and his family.
