Barbara Liesener, 70, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020 at home.

Barbara Fiscus was born on November 13, 1949, in Audubon, Iowa, the daughter of John and Edna (Dean) Fiscus. She was united in marriage to Robert Liesener, Sr. in 1979, in Dexter, Iowa, they moved to Eldora in 1990. Barb was a hardworking woman dedicating most of her working career as a housekeeper at various motels. Barb had recently fought through a battle with breast cancer. She enjoyed cooking, working on puzzles, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Jane Stickrod, 66, passed away in the comfort of her family at home on Sept. 29, 2020. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 2 at Memorial Lutheran Church, 2228 Lincoln Way, Ames. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at Memorial Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. The funeral service will be Livestreamed and the link can be found on Jane’s tribute wall.

NORTH PORT, FLA. - Marguerite A. O’Bryon, 103, former Eldora, Iowa resident, passed to meet her Savior, Friday, Sept. 18, at North Port Pines Assisted Living in North Port, Fla. A visitation will be held from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Burial will follow at the Eldora City Cemetery. Alfred Nels Hanson, 93, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. There will be a public visitation from noon until 1 p.m., Sept. 26, 2020, at Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel, 1521 Washington Ave., Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Funeral services for Arlene will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, Iowa, with Pastor Aaron Hambleton officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at the Creps Abels Funeral Chapel located at 905 Edgington Ave, Eldora, Iowa. She will be laid to rest at the Radcliffe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed in her name to her family.

Alexis Marie Balvanz was born on Aug. 1, 2018, in Los Angeles, Calif. She immediately brought joy and love to her parents, Lisa and Steven Balvanz, and to her big brother, Nixon. She died unexpectedly at home in Los Angeles, on March 2, 2020, breaking the hearts of her immediate and extended family, and friends.
