Donald Lee Butler passed away Thursday, July 22 at Arlington Place Grundy Center, Iowa. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1 at Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Engelkes Chapel in Grundy Center, Iowa. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2 at Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Engelkes Chapel. Burial will follow services at Sheller Cemetery in rural Grundy County, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Camp Pine Lake or to Cedar Valley Hospice.

A memorial service for Ruth Ann Gelhaus, who died on Jan. 31, 2021, will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, at Salem United Methodist Church in Hubbard. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the church before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 238, Hubbard, Iowa 50122 for missions, Heifer International, 1 World Ave Little Rock, AR 72202-2863 or Holt International Children’s Services, P.O. Box 2880, Eugene, OR 97402-9970. The Boeke Funeral Home of Hubbard is in charge of arrangements.

It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to mom. She was a military wife, mother of seven rambunctious children; faced obstacles & challenges with strength and determination! We could only hope one day to be half the person she was. We take solace in knowing she is dancing in heaven with dad. Goodbye mom, love and miss you.

A visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 19 at Salem United Methodist Church in Hubbard, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at Salem United Methodist Church 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 20. Susan Dickerson

Susan Dickerson peacefully passed away Saturday July 10, 2021, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Her family thanks the staff for their kind and gentle care of mom. Per her wishes there will be no services and she will be cremated. Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Creps Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Susan was born March 13, 1939, to Marjorie Quandt in Mason City, Iowa. She considered her mother’s second husband, Earl H. Aman, her dad after he adopted Susan and her brother David. Susan was raised and educated in the Mason City and Clear Lake areas.
