DES MOINES - When Traven Wheeler stepped onto the Blue Oval for the first time last season as a sophomore, the atmosphere at the Drake Relays was a bit overpowering and admittedly affected his debut.
Fast forward to last Friday and Wheeler made his return with more confidence and a 12th place finish in the high jump.
“Drake is great because it gives me another goal to set myself to,” Wheeler said. “It’s a good feeling jumping in front of all those people. This is a cool experience.”
