ELDORA – State Climatologist Justin Glisan says there’s a “probability for warmer weather” this January based on averages from 1981 to 2010, a 30-year span climatologists use for tracking. “This year we transition into the next 30-year span, which is 1991 to 2020.”
January in general is a drier month and 0.93 inches is the average precipitation. “That includes all liquid - snow, freezing rain or sleet.” Glisan said. “If we look at the outlook from the climate prediction center, the probability is for warmer and wetter weather.”
