Valley View may get new role

ELDORA - The recently shuttered Valley View Specialty Care nursing home in Eldora is looking to quickly turn a page. It may have a second life as a group home for seasonal agricultural workers who’ve for decades been living much of the year here in Eldora.

For three generations, a Texas-based contractor has mobilized crews, sometimes reaching 100, and transported them to the seed corn fields in Hardin and Grundy counties. They do the whole range of production jobs - everything from detasseling to packaging processed seed for delivery.
