OELWEIN - South Hardin boys basketball tipped off the 2023-24 season with a 70-61 win over Oelwein last week on Tuesday and a 70-63 loss to West Marshall on Friday.
Deadlocked at 13 points apiece after the first quarter, the Tigers pulled away in the second and third quarters behind a career-high 30 points from junior Lane Luiken, who went 10 of 16 at the free throw line. Joining Luiken in double figures were junior Traven Wheeler with 11 points and junior Jaxson Drury with 10 points.
