DES MOINES – The South Hardin girls 4x400 relay had two goals at the state track and field meet in Des Moines: Break the school record in the race, and, well…
“Don’t get last,” said Macy Engelson, the relay’s anchor runner.
As it turned out, one goal took care of the other.
Madison Stille, Ava Salvo, Alyssa Stille and Engelson uncorked a 4:14.91 time to put their names in the Tigers record books and finish 18th in Class 2A during the 4x400 prelims on Friday night.
