DES MOINES - Two area athletes - South Hardin junior Traven Wheeler and AGWSR senior Abby Veld - have both qualified to compete at the 2024 Drake Relays among the elite high school athletes in the state.
Wheeler automatically qualified for the high jump this season by clearing six feet and seven inches in the event at the very first meet of the season. The junior qualified at-large for the event last season, becoming the first Tiger invited to the Drake Relays since Nick Pearson in long jump in 2007 according to South Hardin coach Jared Kadolph.
