UNION – BCLUW graduate Payton Pekarek was in her first year at Iowa State University when the leg pain started. “I started having pain in November 2020,” she said. “It just started out as general knee throbbing pain on the side and just never got better.”
As time progressed the pain got worse. “I couldn’t sleep at night, and I started limping,” she said. “I ended up having it looked at in December when I was on break, and they didn’t do any tests, just sent me to physical therapy. They thought it was a muscular thing.”
