STEAMBOAT ROCK – Representatives from the Iowa Utilities Board and Summit Carbon Solutions addressed a crowd of around 250 people at a Sept. 13 public meeting about the proposed CO2 pipeline. The pipeline will capture CO2 from ethanol plants, turn it into liquid, transport and inject it in the ground in North Dakota.
A large portion of the people in attendance were landowners who had received a notice of the meeting, which was held at Timbers Edge north Steamboat Rock. The meeting was the first of 32 planned across Iowa, the last one scheduled for the middle of October.
