Painting a picture of shortages

I’m painting my kitchen. It had been years and it needed it, however that’s not what this column is about. It’s simply about finding paint.

When I was in the “thinking about painting the kitchen” phase, I went to Walmart for some paint chips, but there were very few cans of paint on the shelves, and even just a small can of white I wanted for trim was unavailable. They had a can of black. The guy even looked at me like, “will this work?” No, it was the opposite of what I wanted.
