STEAMBOAT ROCK – Played with a solid paddle and a Wiffle-like ball called a pickleball, the sport of pickleball has become popular across the nation, and in Steamboat Rock.
With a matching grant of $4,000 from the Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation, $5,000 from the Barlow Family Foundation, and private donations, a new pickleball court at Washington Square near the old Steamboat Rock School, has been completed.
