ELDORA - The Iowa Appeals Board approved a nearly $5 million settlement in legal fees to attorneys after boys at the State Training School in Eldora were shown to be wrongly put into restraints and in seclusion rooms. The decision was handed down on Feb. 15.
The attorneys represented former students of the Boys State Training School, and the former students had already won a previous lawsuit over their mistreatment, however they did not seek monetary damages from the state.
