Hardin County clocked in at two percent in the latest jobs numbers, beating the state average. Iowa’s unemployment numbers fell to 2.8 percent in the latest figures with Hardin County .8 percent ahead of the rest of the state. Story County was a 1.6 percent the lead the region, followed by Wright County at 1.7 percent and Hamilton County at 1.8 percent as Franklin County tied Hardin at two percent. Grundy County was slightly higher at 2.2 percent while Marshall County was the highest in the region at 5.5 percent.
