At 3:30 a.m. on April 5, a fire broke out in a mobile home at Pine Crest Mobile Home Park. The Eldora Fire Department responded immediately.
Upon arrival it was clear that the mobile home was fully engulfed in flames and entry into the structure would be futile, according to Fire Chief Aaron Clemons.
Fire fighters were immediately informed that all human occupants, a father and two high school aged boys were able to vacate the home. One service dog was able to vacate and one service dog did not make it out of the mobile home in time and perished.
