ELDORA - In 1917 they paid $70,000 to build the downtown Eldora schoolhouse, and today it will cost just over a quarter of a million dollars to tear it down. The Eldora-New Providence School Board of Directors was pleased with the figure.

Quotes ranged from as high as $525,000 to as low as $296,565.
