TRAER - The hits were hard to come by on Wednesday, but they have been there this season for BCLUW baseball. Despite an 11-0 shutout against the Iowa Star’s top pitcher from North Tama, the Comets have already hit the ball better than last season, and scored more runs because of it. In 18 games last season, the Comets produced 86 and scored 26 runs. Eight games into the 2024 season, BCLUW have 55 hits and have scored 38 runs. “When you’re hitting the ball better, you’re getting on base more frequently and scoring more runs,” Matt Zoske said.
