ELDORA - For years, that vacant commercial space at the southwest corner of the Eldora square has become a question mark. Stretches of absentee ownership have prompted concern that – if something isn’t done and soon – the turn-of-the-20th Century building might degrade beyond fixing.
Now, the city, the state’s regional planning service in Marshalltown, and a Nebraska investor-developer are advancing plans to convert the building’s second floor to a pair of apartment-style dwellings.
