We’re days away from calving season to begin and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we have another bottle baby. Those are the calves that need a bottle because their mama’s milk wouldn’t come in, or something bad happened during childbirth. All bottle babies are given to me and it’s my job to keep them fed and taken care of, and then they become mine - never, ever, ever to be given away, sold or butchered. Mine until the day they die of natural causes and a big hole is dug in the pasture where they are laid to rest. Mine, forever and ever.
