DES MOINES – Brynn Smith remembers what it was like being in lane 8 in the fast line on the Blue Oval last year.
“It was very nerve wracking because there’s all these girls that are built, and strong, and they’ve been here before,” Smith said.
This year, Smith could count herself among one of those that has been there before.
And she performed like it, too.
She shot out of the blocks in lane 6 of the second section and won her heat in 59.96, which ended up being good for fourth overall in Class 1A.
