Betty Louise Kearns

Born August 17, 1938 in Eldora to Pleas and Rosa Hobson, Betty was the third youngest of their eight siblings. A gal of many loves in life, especially horses, ever since her dad bought her a pony. Betty’s biggest thrill was winning three world championships, and six reserves at the Palomino World Show. The one horse always remembered was Mike, a purebred Palomino. Betty and Mike shared many, a show ring. Mike would nod his head when asked “do you want a peppermint?” He loved it when extended family children would visit as he knew carrots would come his way.

Betty had other interests, showing fancy chickens and turkeys. A tom turkey was a grand champion and later shipped overseas. Betty and Pete extended their interest in raising bees. Cohobee Ranch was their trade mark. Cows, horses, and bees. Betty and Pete were a team. Pete liked his cows, Betty her horses and together they kept their bees. Their interests grew to growing various fruit trees and belonging to the tropical Fruit Club. Many of us have enjoyed the fruits of their labor. Betty had started numerous printing businesses. At the time of her retirement, Betty and Pete had toiled for 25 years at Time Management. A company they started to provide employee time clocks and automated payroll processing.

Travels took them all over the world. With memories beyond imagination. It is fitting to say, hard work, compassion to many interests, friendships made, very loving and giving, Betty and Pete will “Forever Be In Our Hearts.”

Betty is survived by grandson Myles Wallace, step children, Steven Kearns, Tari Kearns Glotzer. Sister Ruth Holm and brothers Bob Bill Hobson. Preceding Betty is her husband Pete Kearns, son Cary Wallace, parents Pleas and Rosa Hobson, siblings brothers Carroll and John Hobson.

In lieu of flowers, Betty had asked for donations to Tunnels to Towers. An organization that assists families of the 911. The link there is dogood.t2t.org/imobettykearns
