Mary Bell, 76, of Hubbard, formerly of Tucson, Arizona, passed away July 23, 2025 at the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard.
A Celebration Of Life was set for Saturday, Aug. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Hubbard Community Center, 301 Chestnut St, Hubbard, with a time for sharing memories at 3 p.m. and a time of fellowship to follow.

Mary Frances (Herbrechtsmeier) Bell was born March 20, 1949 in Eldora. She was one of three children born to Adolph William and Ida Elizabeth “Lib” (Cory) Herbrechtsmeier.She grew up on a farm south of Hubbard and received her education in the Hubbard Community School. She was very active in basketball, softball and track where she competed at the state level. She graduated with the Class of 1967. Mary continued her education at ISU. While there she married Tom Bell. They had two sons Andrew and Bradley. Eventually she graduated Cum Laude in Business Administration from Drake University in 1980. Mary worked as a VP meeting planner at The Bankers Life Company. Mary relocated to Tucson, Arizona in 1999 with her husband Tom, where she became a successful real estate agent. In 2018 Mary showed the first symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, and by 2023 it was necessary for her to enter the Hubbard Care Center. She declined steadily, and passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Those remaining to cherish her memory include: her sons Andrew Bell, of Sioux City, and Bradley Bell (Mandy), of Papillion, Nebraska; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her brothers Edward Herbrechtsmeier, of Kansas City, Missouri; William “Bill” Herbrechtsmeier, of Marshalltown, and Paul Cory (Cathy), of Cedar Rapids; along with other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Tom.
