Howard 'Butch' Pieters

Howard "Butch" Pieters passed away June 2, 2025 in Amarillo, Texas at the age of 80. Howard was born April 8, 1945 to Leo and Henrietta (Noordman) Pieters. 

He graduated from Steamboat Rock High School. After graduation he went to work at International Supply in the feed department for several years before he became manager of the feed department at United Suppliers in Eldora where he retired after 40 plus years. 

Howard was united in marriage to Janice Bray on July 18,1969 in Alden, Iowa. Howard moved to Amarillo after retiring to raise border collie dogs, train and show horses. 

Howard is survived by his wife, Jan. Two brothers: Lee (Bev) Pieters of Steamboat Rock and Dean (Carol) Pieters of Urbandale, Sister: Sheryl (Dave) Mull of Steamboat  Rock, Sister-in-laws: Janelle Pieters of Lake City and Judy Vickre of Garden City along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James and in laws, Pete and Phyllis Bray. 

There will be a Celebration of Life for Howard on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock from 11-1 pm fir felliwship and remembering Howard.
