Felix Alfred Clapp was born Nov. 21, 1938, to Luke and Emma (Johnson) Clapp, on the family farm in Alton, Missouri. He was one of fourteen children. Felix graduated from 8th grade and began working on the farm as well as working for Mr. Alan. He was very proud of the fact that he owned his own Hereford cow.

In 1959, Felix married Terry Lee Cowell, and to this union came four children: Rose, Teresa, Alan and Randy. That same year Felix was drafted into the Army, where he served a short time before returning home to the family farm.

In the 1960s, a job offer brought Felix to Storm Lake. A short time later he moved to Eldora, where he began working for Dale Shafer, where the farm museum exists today. After 13 years, Dale retired, and Felix then ran Leroy Aswegen's farm for another thirteen years. He was a jack of all trades, working on anything and everything. Felix ran a shop called C&V Repair, south of Eldora, he was an auctioneer, as well as a tractor mechanic. There wasn't anything he couldn't do. He was always there with a helping hand for those in need. A friend to all.

Showing his dedication to family, Felix donated one of his kidneys to his brother Eldon. Before Eldon's passing, this was one of the longest lasting donator kidneys of the time, lasting over 40 years.

In 1979 Felix married Carol Vice, who brought five children into this union: Jeanne, Josie, Janet, Jimmy and Jill. They were married for 44 years. He lived on his acreage where he enjoyed his family, his business ventures as well as his hobbies for over 55 years.

He is survived by his sister Marie Caldwell and his sister in-law Marlene Clapp, children: Rose Kolthoff, Teresa Lewis, Alan (Sue) Clapp, Randy (Sherri) Clapp. Also survived by Jeanne (Cole) Carpenter, Josie (John) Schmitz, Janet (Brad) Sarchett, Jimmy (Jenna) Fox, and Jill (Bruce) Rewoldt. Felix had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol, 12 siblings and his great-grandchild Felix Anthony Clapp.
