ELDORA - A win’s a win for South Hardin boys basketball, taking down Oelwein 70-62 in their season opener Tuesday despite some lapses defensively and free throws off the mark.
The Tigers were strong out of the gate, taking a 17-10 lead behind two crowd-pleasing dunks from senior Traven Wheeler. Balanced scoring kept South Hardin on top the second quarter, taking a 36-27 lead into halftime after senior Izaak Hollingsworth snuck in for a backdoor cut just before the break.
