STORY CITY - 2A fifth-ranked South Hardin volleyball faced a challenge wave of larger schools in a round-robin tournament at Roland-Story, but it would be their own lack of energy that would lead to their first loss in a month.
The Tigers opened with Hampton-Dumont-CAL on Monday last week, pushing past the Bulldogs 21-11, 21-14 behind nine kills from sophomore Emma Minteer and 18 assists from senior Ava Paige. But even in victory, South Hardin co-coach John Teske saw issues in the team’s energy.
