Summertime is just around the corner and entomologists (bug specialists) are waiting for the
seventeen year Cicada hatch. This year we should experience two broods hatching out at the
same time. Broods thirteen (Xlll) and fourteen (XlV) are expected to create an estimated one
trillion emergents. These remarkable bugs are always emerging or at least they seem like they
are always emerging because there are seventeen broods. Occasionally we get a year with no
broods emerging and a year like 2024, we get two emerging at one time. It’s not totally exact
