BAXTER - AGWSR’s Abby Veld had been working on her discus throw, but never expected the results to bloom early.
The senior threw discus for 135 feet and 11 inches at the Baxter Relays on Thursday to automatically qualify for the Drake Relays later this month, Veld’s first time qualifying for this event.
“I really worked hard at it, but was I expecting it? No,” Veld said. “But it's just an amazing feeling to make it back down to Drake this year.”
